Maternal & Newborn Survival: Theory to Practice

This course is designed for non-medical students who desire to meld the theoretical knowledge related to maternal-neonatal health obtained from on-line learning combined with the practical, hands-on skills acquired by completing structured Master Trainer workshops related to the care of the newborn and mother. Students will be required to complete two on-line learning certificates related to neonatal and maternal health in addition to two Master Trainer workshops, Helping Babies Breathe (HBB) or Essential Care for Every Baby (ECEB) or Essential Care of the Small Baby (ECSB) or Helping Mothers Survive (HMS).

This noncredit class meets with a regular University of Utah credit course. Students can purchase any assigned hardcopy textbooks through our .
