Pilates Teacher Training: Mat Instruction

This course is part one of a four-part series designed to provide a comprehensive education in Pilates instruction, blending theory with practical application to prepare graduates for professional certification. This part of the series will examine mat instruction extensively. Topics covered in this course include, but are not limited to: Mat I-III, Foundations of the Pilates Method, Anatomy I, Classical & Contemporary Adaptations, Sequencing & Class Design, Teaching Skills & Professional Practice, Evaluation & Practical Competencies with PMA Core Training Requirements.

This noncredit class meets with a regular University of Utah credit course. Students can purchase any assigned hardcopy textbooks through our .

Class Sections For Pilates Teacher Training: Mat Instruction (ESSFC 900)

Spring 2027 Section 1, Starting on: 03/17/2027

THIS CLASS IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR TUITION REDUCTION OR EMERITUS DISCOUNTS. Students will collect the majority of required hours on their own time. An online "Welcome" meeting will be held via Canvas on Wednesday, March 17 from 6PM-8PM. All other meetings will be in-person skills labs on the following dates/times: Friday 3/19/27 4PM-7PM; Saturday 3/20/27 9AM-5PM; Sunday 3/21/27 10AM-3PM; Saturday 4/17/27 9AM-5PM. There will also be an additional 4-hour in-person Anatomy Lecture required, with several available dates. This will be discussed further in class.
